True Love

They truely love you when they tell you the bitter truth,
Because they want only your happiness in this life and the here after,

Your beloved loves you when you find what they say is for your benefit.

You're truely loved when they advise you kindly with words of ice,
The words are so cold they burn but in the end they suffice
You too later contemplate the truth that your beloved truely loves you


True love is when you are told your mistakes so you can improve,
Lest death comes and you are faced with your 'mistakes' that in the grave,
May come and haunt you .


True love is when your spouse fears for your life in this world and the next,
They constantly strive to help you become near to Allah-
Since we know it's a huge test,

This life will soon be gone and true love is when your beloved helps you
Realise the shortness of this life, it's all exhaustion and little rest.

True love is enjoining the good even when it is bitter,
They stick to the truth down to the letter,
And they don't let you slip nor stray from the straight path-
They guide you to that which is much purer.
