    Wasted Time

    By: Shaykh Abdul-Malik Qasim
Since last night my young son has been unwell. When I got back from work this evening I decided to take him to hospital despite my exhaustion. Indeed, fatigue for his sake is rest.
There were many waitingperhaps we will be delayed by more than an hour. I took my number and sat down in the waiting room. There were many faces, young and old, but all silent. Some brothers made use of the many booklets available in the waiting room.

    Wasted Time

Since last night my young son has been unwell. When I got back from work this evening I decided to take him to hospital despite my exhaustion. Indeed, fatigue for his sake is rest.
There were many waitingperhaps we will be delayed by more than an hour. I took my number and sat down in the waiting room. There were many faces, young and old, but all silent. Some brothers made use of the many booklets available in the waiting room.
Some of those waiting had their eyes closed, while others were looking around. Most were bored. Once in a while the long silence was broken by a nurse calling out a number. Happiness appears on the one whose turn it is, and he gets up quicklythen silence returns.
A young man grabbed my attention. He was reading a pocket-sized Qur`an continuously; not raising his head even once. At first I did not think much about him. However, after one hour of waiting my casual glances turned into a deep reflection about his lifestyle and how he utilizes his time.
One hour of life wasted! Instead of making benefit of that hour, it was just a boring wait. Then the call for prayer was made. We went to prayer in the hospitals mosque. I tried to pray close to the man who was reading the Qur`an earlier in the waiting room. After the prayer I walked with him. I informed him of how impressed I was of him and how he tries to benefit from his time.
He told me that most of our time is wasted without any benefit. These are days that go from our lives without being conscious of them or regretting their waste. He said that he started carrying the pocket-sized Qur`an around when a friend encouraged him to make full use of his time. He told me that in the time other people waste he gets to read much more of the Qur`an than he gets to read either at home or in the mosque. Moreover, besides the reward of reading the Qur`an, this habit saves him from boredom and stress. He added that he has now been waiting for one and a half hours.
Then he asked, when will you find one and a half hours to read the Qur`an? I reflectedhow much time do we waste? How many moments of our lives pass by, and yet we do not account for how they passed by? Indeed, how many months pass by and we do not read the Qur`an?
I came to respect my companion, and I discovered that I am to stand for account and that time is not in my handso what am I waiting for?
My thoughts were interrupted by the nurse calling out my numberI went to the doctor. But I want to achieve something now. After I left the hospital I quickly went to the bookshop and bought a pocket-sized Qur`an. I decided to be mindful of how I spend the time. That was my intention when I put that Qur`an in my pocket.
How many people will do this? And what great reward is for the one who guides others to this idea?

There was a young man who went overseas to study for quite a long time. When he returned, he asked his parents to find him a religious Scholar or any expert who could answer his 3 Questions.

Finally, his parents were able to find a Muslim scholar.
young man: Who are you? Can you answer my questions?

Scholar: I am one of Allah (SubHana Wa Ta`ala )'s slaves and Insha-Allah (God willing), I will be able to answer your questions.

Young man: Are you sure? A lot of Professors and experts were not able to answer my questions.

Scholar: I will try my best, with the help of Allah( SubHana WaTa`ala).

Young Man: I have 3 questions:

    1. Does God exist? If so, show me His shape.

    2. What is thaqdir (fate)?

    3. If shaitan (Devil) was created from the fire, why at the end he will be thrown to hell that is also created from fire. It certainly will not hurt him at all, since Shaitan (Devil) and the hell were created from fire. Did God not think of it this far?

Suddenly, the Scholar slapped the young man's face very hard.

Young Man (feeling pain): Why do you get angry at me?

Scholar: I am not angry. The slap is my answer to your three questions.

Young Man: I really don't understand.

Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?

Young Man: Of course, I felt the pain.

Scholar: So do you believe that pain exists?

    Young Man: Yes.

Scholar: Show me the shape of the pain!

    Young Man: I cannot.

Scholar: That is my first answer. All of us feel God's existence without being able to see His shape... Last night, did you dream that you will be slapped by me?

    Young Man: No.

Scholar: Did you ever think that you will get a slap from me, today?

    Young Man: No.

Scholar: That is takdir (fate) my second answer........ My hand that I used to slap you, what is it created from?

Young Man: It is created from flesh.

Scholar: How about your face, what is it created from?

    Young Man: Flesh.

Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?

    Young Man: In pain.

Scholar: Thats it. this is my third answer, Even though Shaitan(Devil) and also the hell were created from the fire, if Allah wants, insha-Allah (God willing), the hell will become a very painful place for Shaitan

Allah said: "If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you." If you are not ashamed, pass this message on...only if you believe.
"Yes, I love Allah. Allah is my fountain of Life and My Savior. Allah keeps me going day & night. Without Allah, I am no one.

A little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one evening while she was fixing supper, and handed her a piece of paper that he had been writing on. After his Mom dried her hands on an apron, she read it, and this is what it said:

    For cutting the grass: $5.00

For cleaning up my room this week: $1.00

For going to the store for you: $.50

Baby-sitting my kid brother while you went shopping: $.25

    Taking out the garbage: $1.00

For getting a good report card: $5.00

For cleaning up and raking the yard: $2.00

    Total owed: $14.75

Well, his mother looked at him standing there, and the boy could see the memories flashing through her mind. She picked up the pen, turned over the paper he'd written on, and this is what she wrote:

For the nine months I carried you while you were growing inside me:

    No Charge

For all the nights that I've sat up with you, doctored and prayed for you:

    No Charge

For all the trying times, and all the tears that you've caused through the years:

    No Charge

For all the nights that were filled with dread, and for the worries I knew were ahead:

    No Charge

For the toys, food, clothes, and even wiping your nose:

    No Charge

Son, when you add it up, the cost of my love is:

    No Charge.

When the boy finished reading what his mother had written, there were big tears in his eyes, and he looked straight at his mother and said, "Mom, I sure do love you." And then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote: "PAID IN FULL".

    Lessons:

You will never how much your parents worth till you become a parent

Be a giver not an asker, especially with your parents. there is a lot to give, besides money.

    Advice:

IF your mom is alive and close to you, give her a big kiss and ask her for forgiveness. If she is far away, call her. if she passed away, pray for her.

Miscellaneous Islamic Postings Empty Trust .....

Post  HAQ Sun Aug 30, 2009 5:58 pm

    Trust

“Verily! Allah commands that you should render back the trusts to those to whom they are due; and that when you judge between men, you judge with justice. Verily, how excellent is the teaching which He (Allah) gives you! Truly, Allah is All ¬Hearer, All ¬Seer.” (4:58)

    • This subject of trust is important in our daily life. If people trust one another and if they act accordingly, they will live in peace and harmony. If we trust one another, but we do not act rightfully we will create a state of confusion and disturbance in society.

    • We have been commanded to put our trust in Allah. We should fulfil our trust and make sure we deal with trust. Allah himself fulfils promises and has commanded the believers to do the same.

    • It should be understood that the concept of Amaanah (trust) has been given to us since the time Allah has created mankind. The only creation to accept this trust and was willing to assume responsibility for it was human beings. The Qur’an describes the event in the following words, “We did indeed offer the Trust to the Heavens and the Earth and the Mountains; but they refused to undertake it, being afraid thereof: but man undertook it; He was indeed unjust and foolish.” (33:72)

    • Allah has also instructed us to fulfil our promises and commitments. Any time we make a promise, we have to fulfil it in order to be considered amongst the believers. Indeed some of the characteristics of the believers is that they fulfil their covenants, their promises and agreements. The Qur’an states: “Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants. And who (strictly) guard their prayers. These will be the heir - Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever).” (23:8-11)

    • Nabi sallallahu alayhi wasalam was known among the non believers of Makkah as ‘Al Ameen’ - The Trustworthy Person. He fulfilled all his promises from childhood until death. He never betrayed anyone nor did he ever lie. He was the best example for mankind.

    • A person lacking in trust is lacking in faith. The absence of trust is a sign of the absence faith. Nabi sallallahu alayhi wasalam said, “There is no faith for one who has no trust, and there is no religion for one who does not fulfil promises.” (Ahmad)

    • Failure in fulfilling ones promises can have a rather negative effect on oneself. It is tantamount to hypocrisy. In a narration Nabi sallallahu alayhi wasalam said, ‘Signs of a hypocrite are three: whenever he speaks he lies; whenever he promises he breaks his promise; whenever he has been entrusted, he betrays his trust.’ (Bukhari & Muslim)

    • Even the word of another should be respected as trust. It is imperative to keep the secret of another who has requested so. Nabi sallallahu alayhi wasalam said, ‘When someone hears a discussion from a person who does not want his name to be mentioned, it is considered to be a private conversation. It is a trust and even if he did not ask it to be kept private.’ (Ahmad)

    • If one has been endowed with the noble quality of respecting and keeping trust in good faith, he/she has indeed been favoured with a great blessing. Abdullah bin Umar radhiyallahu anhu reported that Nabi sallallahu alayhi wasalam said, ‘If you have four qualities, you should not worry about what you missed in life: to take care of trust, to speak the truth, to have good manners, and to have modest and pure food.’

Miscellaneous Islamic Postings Empty جہنم سے ڈرنے والے

Post  HAQ Sun Aug 30, 2009 6:10 pm
